Errors such as "Something Happened," slow downloads, or USB drive issue are frequent problems with the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. After installation, users can experience issues with activation, disk space shortages, or unsuccessful installations. Compatibility problems, bootable USB creation failures, and error codes (such as 0x80072F8F and 0x80042405)can also occur. These are frequently occured by corrupted files, unsuitable hardware, network problems, or incorrect USB drive formatting.

I’ve run into a few of these issues myself when using the Media Creation Tool. The most common one was the “Something Happened” error, which for me turned out to be a corrupted ISO file caused by an unstable internet connection. Redownloading with a wired connection fixed it. Another problem I faced was creating a bootable USB—turns out the drive wasn’t formatted correctly in FAT32. Once I reformatted and retried, the installation worked fine. In general, I’d recommend checking hardware compatibility and running the tool as an administrator. Oddly enough, I first learned proper troubleshooting from a Web Development Agency I was working with, they emphasized clean setups and error checks, which apply here too.
